Victoria Wins "Ugliest Dog" Title for Third Year in Row. Victoria, the poster child for hadicapped dogs, won the "Ugliest Dog" title at Del Mar on March 9th. This is the third year in a row that she has become reigning queen. She placed second in 2006 at the "World's Ugliest Dog Contest and can be seen on Animal Planet's segment "World's Ugliest Dog". Little Victoria is a 6 year old an Italian Greyhound. She was projected to live for only 2 months, but beat the odds. She is hydrocephalus (water on the brain), blind in one eye, has a deformed jaw with proturding teeth, had a torturously bent tail that was amputated, and had a broken leg. Victoria is very intelligent, nocturnal, eats from 12 to 5 am, and is Bruna Palmatier's sweet little Angel. |

Operation Greyhound was re-opened after evacuation on Monday, October 20th. No damage to home, kennel, or equipment occurred during the fires. At this time we could use the assistance of a few volunteers to off-load the vans and put the kennel back together. We wish to thank all the volunteers and those who phoned or e-mailed to assist during this event. |

The World Invitational Joust 2007 took place at the Poway Rodeo Grounds (PVRA Facility, Poway, CA) on Saturday October 27, 2007. Top riders from England, Belgium, Australia, New Zealand and the US competed with lance and horse in tests of skill, courage and honour. Although jousting is a well known and well attended event internationally, this is the first event of its kind held in the US. Operation Greyhound was invited to bring greyhounds to this event. BIG DOG Adoption Event - 19 August 2007 Operation Greyhound enjoyed the day at Fiesta Island where the San Diego Animal Support Foundation hosted the Big Dogs Rock adoption day event. Many thanks to Steve and Mary Frances Vigil, Jessi LaCosta, Will Grupenhoff, Lisa Urabe, and Stephanie for setting up and manning our oasis in the sand. Our six greyhounds had a pleasant day at the beach. Young "Gossamer" was adopted by previous adopter Charles Gorlinski and family of Santa Ana. "Sweet Sixteen" Greyhound Reunion/Picnic on Sunday, June 3rd, Great Success! We wish to thank all the 150 plus participants, sponsors, donors, and volunteers for making it a memorable event. Four beautiful greyhounds were adopted at the event and over $15,000 were raised for the greyhound cause. A special thanks to Russ McKamey for his super DJ/MC performance, Barbara Sabatini and Abby Oursler for securing all the terrific raffle and auction prizes, Diane Ammel and Greywood Kennels for operating and donating all proceeds from the Nail Salon, Dolly Young for a superb auctioneering feat, and Moses Marquez, event photographer.
